Q: Is the parking safe? What about at night?
A: FAF has private parking available to all members and visitors. Our lot is well-lit at night, and has a security gate that is activated after 5 pm. There is also secured underground parking available to FAF members for $55/mo. A card/key will be issued to any members choosing underground parking

Q: What do I need to bring to the studio?
A: Bring any supplies you would normally need to be able to paint or draw. In addition, you are welcome to bring your own easel, stool, or whatever else you are comfortable working with. For added convenience, FAF has a limited number of easels, tables and stools available for our members' use.

Q: How's the lighting?
A: Realizing that lighting is one of the single most important elements of drawing and painting, FAF has made a major financial investment to create a well-lit, color-corrected and balanced lighting scheme in the open studio area. There is special track lighting in the gallery area present artwork in the best possible light.

Q: How do I organize a gallery opening?
A: Make FAF aware of your interest in having a gallery opening and schedule a time to discuss details.

Q: What do I get on the FAF website as a member?
A: Members will be able to post your bio, artist statement, your portrait, and three or four samples of your artwork! Any inquires will be directed to your email address. You can then follow up on any leads and coordinate any sales directly. You are encouraged to direct people to your page on the FAF web site. This arrangement is ideal for artist/members who may not already have an online gallery presence.

Q. I already have a web site. Can I have FAF's web site link to my existing web site?
A. Yes. The FAF web site is a way to add more exposure for you and your work.

Q. Do I need to set up every time I come to FAF or can I leave my supplies out in the work area?
A. It is up to you. It most likely will depend how regularly you paint at FAF. The more frequently you paint at FAF the more it makes sense to leave your supplies set up at FAF.

Q. Do I need to bring my supplies every time I come to FAF?
A. There are several options regarding leaving your supplies. Because there is a FAF representative on site at all times, your supplies are safe left at your work station. For more security, however, there is a locked storage room. A third option is to rent the custom-designed work station (see description) that has its own lockable storage compartment.

Q. How do I pay for membership?
A. You can have your credit card charged automatically monthly or if you prefer, you can pay by check the first week of each month.

Q. Can I use FAF for my studio mailing address and email address?
A. Yes.

Q. Can I use the FAF phone number as my studio number?
A. At this time FAF encourages you to take advantage of your cell phone. FAF is looking into the possibility of creating a message service that assigns a personal extension number to each member. However, a certain
percentage of members are interested in FAF being an oasis away from phones, so we ask each member to use polite phone etiquette by being considerate and keeping your phone conversations as private as possible, either by stepping outside or away from working artists when talking on the phone.

Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. Sorry, FAF is not a safe place for pets, and they would be a distraction to fellow members.

Q. Can I listen to the music I want to listen to?
A. Yes. But the key is to NOT impose your preference of music on fellow members if they are not agreeable to it. In fact, some artists prefer not to have any music at all, so they can totally concentration on the work at hand. (Some even prefer to listen to Talk Radio...yikes!) The FAF solution is to encourage members to listen to portable CD/AMFM Radio Players through headsets. This allows everyone to listen to their favorite music at whatever volume they choose. That way everyone is happy, which is music to our ears.
